Founded by Rashida Abuwalla in 2014, I Do! Weddings & Occasions was born from a simple belief: weddings should be deeply personal reflections of your story, not generic events. We created this space to fill a gap in an industry that had lost sight of what truly matters—you.
We work with thoughtful creativity, meticulous planning, and genuine care to transform your vision into a beautifully curated celebration. From intimate gatherings to destination weddings across Goa, Mahabalipuram, Coorg, Lake Como, Abu Dhabi, and beyond, every detail is approached with intention. For Rashida, weddings have always been magical. Since her teenage years, she loved everything about them—the beautiful outfits, the food, the emotions, the traditions, and the joy of bringing people together. Over time, that love grew into a passion for creating those moments for others. She realized that being the person behind the scenes, bringing order to the beautiful chaos of a wedding, was exactly where she belonged.
After successfully managing a destination wedding solo in Lake Como, Italy, with another company, she took a leap of faith and started her own company—I Do! Weddings & Occasions. What began as a dream has grown into a brand built on trust, relationships, and heartfelt celebrations. Rashida believes that weddings should never feel like a template; they should reflect the couple’s personality, style, and the little details that make their story unique.
With over 12 years in the wedding industry, Rashida believes that planning a wedding is a huge responsibility and a privilege. Every celebration is personal to her, and she approaches each one with genuine care, passion, and attention to detail. For her, great planning starts with understanding people, their stories, and what truly matters to them.
A natural people person, Rashida loves travelling, meeting new people, hearing their stories, and finding inspiration everywhere she goes. She believes in living life fully, spreading good energy, and creating meaningful experiences. As a mother, entrepreneur, and wedding planner, she continues to pour her heart into every celebration, helping couples create memories they’ll cherish forever.

As the very first bride of I Do! Weddings & Occasions, Alefiya understands firsthand the excitement, anticipation, and emotions that come with planning a wedding. Having experienced Rashida’s thoughtful planning during her own wedding, she witnessed how a potentially stressful process could be transformed into a joyful and unforgettable journey. That experience shaped her belief that every couple deserves to truly enjoy the journey leading up to their wedding day.
To Alefiya, a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration—not just for the couple, but for their families as well. She believes every wedding tells a unique story, and what matters most to her clients becomes equally important to her.
She approaches every celebration with a deep sense of responsibility and personal commitment, striving to make the planning process seamless, stress-free, and enjoyable while creating beautiful experiences and lasting memories.
Before stepping into the world of events, Alefiya spent a decade as a corporate professional at Ernst & Young. Her corporate background instilled in her exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to excellence—qualities that continue to define her approach as a wedding planner.
A natural people person, dreamer, and entrepreneur, Alefiya genuinely loves bringing meaningful celebrations to life. Beyond work, she is a proud mother to a spirited four-year-old son and a loving Indie dog. Balancing motherhood with entrepreneurship has taught her the value of time, patience, and making every moment count. Guided by positivity, purpose, and a strong belief in the Law of Attraction, she is passionate about turning dreams into beautiful realities.
